Welcome!

On behalf of the the DCCS Basketball League, I would like to welcome you to our new blog! 
This will be the simplest way for participants in the league to stay caught up on the latest basketball action and news.  Hopefully we will have plenty of bloggers to contribute. Any volunteers who are interested in blogging leave a comment in the comments section below. We could even assign bloggers to act as "reporters" for each game. They could take notes during the game and blog about what happened. I'm just throwing ideas out there. If you have any ideas you would like to throw out there please comment in the comments section below. 
We will be working towards integrating this blog into our existing website. For now it will stand alone as the official blog of the DCCS Basketball League.
I'm excited for the league this year. I'm working on a lot of new stuff that will make the league even cooler than it already is. For instance, I'm going to work out a way to give everyone access to the games' film. I'm also trying to get more people involved in helping with the website to make it more fun and interactive for everyone. The league is also hoping to adopt some of the awards the NBA has at the end of the regular season. Awards like Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player. Voting will most likely take place right here in this blog! I also think it would be cool to have an All-star Week like we did last year. I'll try to incorporate something like that into the schedule. We're also hoping to get trophies for the winners of the championship game. A lot of exciting stuff going on. Leave a comment if you can think of anything else we should include in our league. This is going to be the best year ever! Too bad the season is so far away. We have to wait clear til September 1st for the first game of the season. That leaves us plenty of time to practice and polish up our bball skills with our newly picked teams.
